Highly successful people usually started early in their life in their chosen field of endeavors. They are likely to have a influential figure as their models of success. The persons are likely to be their close relatives.

Bill Gates father is a banker. Warren Buffret father is a remisier. Maradona grandfather gave him a football as a present at his one year old birthday. Michel Platini's father built a football field model for him to practice his freekicks.

With the highly prestigious Nobel Prizes given to the carefully selected winners from around the world in 6 categories ( Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and Peace awarded in Norway and Sweden) Each prize is worth US $1.5 million and there might be joint winners.

Children look for role models to follow. With the regular broadcasting of the Nobel Prizes ceremony and the winners flying every year to collect their prizes in Sweden, which in turn inspire the many Swedish children to set aim to achieve the Nobel Prizes.

Should Singapore incentivise more factory make building materials?

Constructions entail noise pollutions and the requirement of technical manpower.

With dwindling birthrate and parents not so encouraging their children to go into the industry.

Will more incentives need to encourage the innovations and usage of factory make building materials?

What types of incentives need to overcome the future shortages of manpower? Which Singapore could face severe manpower crunch for the industries in the future.

Having been in the manufacturing industries for the better part of working life.

Factory make building materials could lower the cost and increase the efficiency of the buildings.

Submitting my handsfree, one leg marathon cycling feat to the Guinness Book of World Record

In my younger days, I had cycled an inexpensive normal bicycle up and down East Coast Cycling Track up and down using only one leg and handsfree, from end to end 12 km in around 45 minutes, in training seen by many people. And it was done with people cycling up and down the cycling track, which I am able to avoid knocking onto them. Using a single speed, fixed gear bike.

Given the huge incentives and prestige of the Nobel Prizes which greatly enhanced the incentives to risk , innovates and invent. It will generate massive ideas and later leads to success?

At the present moment, Singapore is facing yet another recesssion.

In the earlier days, Singapore succeed due to low cost in manufacturing.

Now China and India have a huge, cheap and well educated workforce. It is difficult for Singapore to compete with them in regards to cheap manufacturing costs and labour.

As of the present moment, Singapore is heavily dependent on cheap foreign labour. This will further may create more social unrest, widen income gap and give Singapore a cheap image.

Scandinavia countries have some of the highest standard of living in the world. Should our country learn from them?

Their population is small but developed many innovations and inventions;
have world class companies like Ikea, Lego , Nokis & Volvo etc.
They depend little on cheap foreign labours and casinos.

Why can't Singapore set/follow good examples?

Singapore has $200 billions reserves.

Singapore can set up multi-million dollar prizes equivalents of Nobel prizes.

Honour and reward innovations and inventions more often, so that many more good ideas and patents can be produced to drive the economy.

This will also strengthen Culture and bring out the best of local talents.

It is able to pump huge amount of money into building more private schools with state of the art technology and research facilities as well as sports (sea, land, hard, soft) complex to draw more high value students from all over the world.

Kallang River Park has huge empty plots which can be used to build many new facilities.

Building a 88 stories high tech building or innovations and research near the MRT along the Kallang River

The building to be build to house multi functional facilities like National Research Centre, activities for arts, music and cultures facilities & library.

Last a minister wrote to my wife getting a PR, asking ideas for community bonding which i replied it on her behalf.

Important consideration for community bonding is easy access, so that they can drop by conveniently.

The 88 stories to have residential, hotel, office and shops house in the same building to provide all in one amenities?

With ten stories of underground facilities like carparks, securities equipments and facilties etc?

With renewable and green energy building. Beside it the Kallang River can generate renewable energy

The $1.5 billion stadium beside it will draw huge tourists because it is the only one in the world to showcase Singapore innovations with the 88 stories building, with it award winning state of art technology and massive seasport facilties.

Building a high tech sports school, to training sports man and invite top coaches around the world to come

We can also pump huge amount of money to employ more teachers. Build more private and local schools. Build schools with new educational systems, cutting edge research and facilities to draw top innovative staff as well as true foreign talent.

Start a tourism research centre,
study how to draw higher spending tourists and make them staying longer.
Invest billions of dollars in training tourism staff as well as upgrading tourist spots.

Create more Eco-friendly solutions that help, can influence other countries and heal mother earth.

Build facilities that emphasis on healthy living. Research on how to live longer and healthier instead of building more hospitals and focusing on curing diseases which will create and manifest more diseases.

Reduce dependency on casino gradually.
Casino creates social problems such as broken families, loan sharks, gangsters, suicides, chickens running around etc.,

Cheap labour produces negative effects as well.

By doing so, Singapore will set a good example for the world to follow, help heal the planet, bring in positive vibrations, generate income and revamp it's economy as well.

Kallang MRT slated to be the next highly sought after area. With many developments planned.

Like shopping, entertainment and seasport centres etc. Two big plots of empty land beside it, are waiting to be developed

A new MRT line to criss cross Kallang MRT station was planned.

Government to pump in a massive $500 millions to upgrade the parks, canals and around the area.

Every day many students from all over Singapore comes to the Kallang River to practice various forms of seasport.

A new award winning, state of art national stadium front by seasport facilities is under construction beside the Kallang River.

The Marina Sands Integrated Resort is quite near the area.

Beside it, Geylang area is under rapid development. Many old houses were torn down to make way for new condo development. At least ten projects are under constructions.

Many old shophouses beside the main road were upgraded, with eye catching colourful lights and signboards, more are on the way.

Geylang is one of Singapore favourite eateries, which attracted huge crowds from all over Singapore and tourists.

Many contractors come to Geylang source for tools and equipments. Quite a number of interior design shops spring up.

Every day many foreign students come to study at the nearby private school (SHINES)

The area community club is under upgrading.

It was bustling with 24 hours eateries and shops.

With the massive development of turning old houses into condo, Geylang could one day with the most condos in Singapore

The spectacular beautiful Norway

The Nobel Prize has a spectacular and encouraging influence on the people of Norway. Norway enjoy the highest standard of living in the world. And arguably the most beautiful country in the world.

With a small population and the with the spirit of innovations incalulated in every levels of the society.

Old beautiful houses built hundreds of years ago, were in harmony and in complemented with the new one and were very colourful.

Many beautiful parks were built around it.

Norway has a long seafaring history. With their master craftmen, building stunning beautiful boats.

Nevha Canal Copenhagen river cruise

The last day of my tour, drawn some interesting conclusions.

The day is free and easy. To go on the boat ride to see the coastline of Copenhagen. We need to take a cab, which I need to find 4 persons or take the Mass Rapid Transit.

I went downstair the hotel, hope to figure out how to take the Mass Rapid Transit to the city centre.

Fortunately I found 4 persons, they asked me to follow them to take the train to the city, we decided to go for the river cruise.

The mass rapid transit is fully automatic. Can use only credit cards or buy a paper card ticket from the nearby convenient store. No staff were stationed at the entrance.

It was Friday morning the train was not very crowded. When reached the city, we got to walk around another ten minutes to the starting point of the river cruise. On our way we saw the innovative transparent houses, the back of The Little Mermaid scupture, unused cannons, rows of sailing boats at the both sides of the canals. I have always admires the Danish ways of innovations and designs. The boat ride was around one hour journey.

I was happy that I am able to take the river boat ride, which might not happened if I didn't met the four other persons. What a happy and fulfilling way to end my Scandinavian tour.

Recording and submitting my cycling feat to the Guinness Book of World Record

Hi

When I was young I read the Guinness Book of World Records, I wishes to be in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Years ago I used to cycle my bike(normal bicycle with no special modification) with only one leg, with or without people cycling up and down the cycling track of East Coast. And avoided knocking into people or bikes cycling up or down.

I started cycling since very young. Everyday I needed to cycle a heavy loads of foods in a tricycle from my home to the footstall in at least half an hour. Which built my stamina and skills.

My ability to maintenace and adjust the bike to it optimal condition is a crucial factor, so that as little effort need to pedal it

I had mastered cycling with only one leg and handsfree in a single speed bicycle, like normally people cycle with 2 hands and 2 legs.

I had mastered cycling the bicycle by controlling the speed and direction of the bicycles with my only leg, hip and shifting my body weight and hip to change the direction of the bicycle, without using another leg and 2 hands with colliding with people cycling up and down the cycle track.

My record for cycled from one end of East Coast to another end, without break in around 45 minutes using only one leg and handsfree. I used to practice hours and hours there.

Hope that one of these days someone can record it and submit to Guinness Book of World Records.

In the 80s I felt that the Mediacorp artistes, were quite average looking and the skills quite average.

I wrote a letter the then called Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (now Mediacorp) suggesting to them, why not hold contests to draw more talents with good incentives and generous rewards.

Sometimes later SBC do hold regularly contests(Star Search) to bring out the talents, and later invited various international countries, which also produce the like of Jeff Wang from Taiwan.

Maybe Mediacorp should draw potential high potential international talents like producers, scriptwriters and cameramen etc to come to Singapore, to produce international acclaimed/blockbuster films? With generous incentives? Another contest?

I received a letter of verification of my feats.

My amazing feats was done years ago, as I had lost the tape. Fortunately Jackie Chan willing to verify my feats.

Some years ago Jackie Chan and the cameraman, came down to my house to record my cycling and freestyle soccer juggling feats.

It was video recorded in 4 places in 2 days.

At East Coast Park, my home downstairs, Woodsville Secondary School & beside National Stadium.

Since it was some years ago. My VHS videotape recording was destroyed by moth.

I had asked her from the master tape. She replied that it was erased and agreed to verify it in writing.

I was amazed to see a young lady fishing and at the same time taking care of her baby.

Sometimes she concentrated on her fishing, sometime she pacified her baby.

Many people came to fish at the river, some used hooks, some used the nets.

Some fishes up to a foot were caught.

Kallang River used to have lots of rubbish flow down.

Now cleaners everyday collected the rubbish at the barriers.

Many students were seen enjoying various sea sports around it.

People were jogging, cycling skating up and down the tracks.

Families with children came to enjoy them with many activites beside the beaches

There were hosts of activities like picnics, kayaking, sailing & fishing etc.

Geylang, the next big thing?

Geylang is famous for its delicious food and sleazes.

There many hardware shops.

Many contractors come to buy tools and equipments from the area.

There are many religious organisations/buildings around the area.

Huge varieties of shops cater from different needs.

With recent huge influx of tourists to the Integrated Resorts.

Many buildings were torn down to make way for condos or private apartments.

Savvy investors find the area value for money. With high rental yields.

The area is relatively cheap compare to other area. With the expectation of more tourists coming to the sport hub and the integrated resorts nearby.

There were many construction activities around it.

A new sports hub $1.5 billion is in construction nearby.

With new hotels and mass developments announced.

The upgrading of Geylang river.

Many interior design companies set up shops in the area.

Everyday there were new signboards replaced and shops were upgraded and renovated in the area.

More can be done to enhance it, to make it the next big tourist attractions?

Could Geylang transform into the next big thing, maybe in term of drawing of tourists.

Things started to change for the Kallang River when the government decided to clean up the river.

Singapore longest river used to carry lots of rubbish from various small drains or streams up.

Barriers/stoppers were made to block the rubbish, everyday the cleaners will remove the rubbish from the barriers.

With the government decided put aside $500 millions to upgrade the river and the park.

Fishes up to a foot can be seen caught.

When the $1.5 billions sports and swimming hub, will turn the river into shoppings, hotels and entertainment centres.

With the massive development of parks, garden & observation centres around the river to enhances the living conditions and residences to enjoy the riverview.

Many students all over singapore come to enjoy and practice their sea sports skills

Amazing hawker who fried kway teow(noodles) for 42 years in the same place

Recently I went to see this hawker, is he still around.

This man fried noodle at his stall for 42 years since the food stalls centre started at 1965.

Everyday without fail, he would stand there from morning fried the noodle (Fried Kway Teow) till night.

From dark hair, he fried the kway teow until his hair turned white.

His dedication to his trade is unbelievable

I heard that his wife was sick he got to take care of his wife.

His son told me his father had retired. So his children took over. His father occasionally came to take a look.

Will his children able do it for another 42 years?

Photo at top second is his son which I asked about his father.

Photo is the canal beside the food stall, which brought back many interesting memories.

Hi All.

Since my younger days I read the book " The Will To Win". I was greatly inspired by the world greatest distance runner. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paavo_Nurmi.

I was greatly inspired by his feats. Everyday he trained 6 and the half hours. He would hold on to the bus and run together with the bus, even people were laughing at him. Still he persisted. Later won many world long distance events.

After seeing his testimony, I very much like to be a world record holder or a world champion. In Singapore it is very difficult to do it. I don't get much support.

I wrote in Woodsville Secondary School Facebook, I hope that Woodsville Secondary School students and Eric Yeo Kheng Leong can come forward to verify my possible world recordbreaking, at that time. At 1986, at that day it was very crowded many students were moving up and down.

I I think it is the best time to break a record. With some cheering on by the crowd, I continued juggling the standard size football, all over my body, using my head, shoulders, back, heels, thighs, insteps and outsteps etc. 3,400 times non-stop continuously, without the ball dropping on the floors or using my hands, in various different patterns.

After that I think I had done enough, to be not regretted later, I had not done to break a record at that time. I found a job at Singapore Press Holdings. I work 7 days a week at Singapore Press Holdings.So I stop practicing. But I always wonder at that time did I broke the World Freestyle Soccer Juggling Record.

Can Singapore attracted the like of Steve Jobs, who can transform old ideas into new and best sellers? We had Sim Wong Woo and Henn Tan that had make numerous successful inventions. Can Singapore had more of these talents.

What types of incentives and schemes are in place to reward, honour and stimulate Singaporeans' innovative and creativity.

USA became one of the most advance nation, after World War 2, had attracted many top talents around that world emigrated there.

China used to make many important inventions, fall into decline and backward looking, because the fear of foreigners.

What types of incentives to develop and transform the constructions , food and beverage industries. How top foreign talents were encourage to bring forward their ideas and innovations to transform the industries?

The recent collapsed of some Hong Kong flats, was a reminder that some preventive measure were needed. Since many of our oldest HDB were built more than 40 years ago, using technology of 50 years old.
Could these oldest HDB given more priority in enbloc. HDB had been doing a good job all these years. Hope that HDB will look into these matters.

Massive development are underway to transform Singapore oldest estate The Queenstown Estate into a top educational hub. The sleepy town used to be populated by senior citizens, had came a long way. Lots of efforts were put into rejuvenatING the area and turn it into a modern metropolis. Many younger generations and expats now were attracted to the area and it is bustling. Sheng Siong and koufu near the commonwealth MRT were crowded.

It had been 40 over years since the government first built it. Now you can see westerners came to stay here, which before that they don't stay in HDB.
With many massive developments around the area presently, can it transform into a modern metropolis? ACS International which offer diplomas programs. And it recently upgraded its stated of art facilities and sport hub to draw more international students.

With the Integrated Resort and The Biopolis, A-Star around. The supply of manpower from MDIS and ACS international is much needed.

The No One Commonwealth Lane shopping & Commercial centre, beside the Commonwealth MRT, is build to cater to high tech activities.

Recently I went to the top of the building beside the Commonwealth MRT, to find out more. With the shift in HDB policy involving more private architects, will the HDB building flat as high as 100 storey one day?, with the Singapore population growing to 6.5 million and with limited space? The rooftop garden was beautiful and magnificent (see picture). Now it attracted many new expat and younger population came to stay in the area and continued to revitalise the area, bring diversified ideas.

Recently I saw in the news that they are building a library near Clementi MRT so that more people can access to it. http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking%2BNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_431393.html

Reach had email me and asked me for suggestions, I had sent my suggestions about building more libraries near the MRT.

In my younger days, when I was primary 3 I used to go to the Community Club at Macpherson to borrow books to read. But only on Wednesday then the mobile library came and display the books.

Building a library near the MRT, so that poorer students can had easier and more more chances to access the libraries so that in future they can contribute to the societies.

Some years ago a MP had wrote to my wife, to ask her about community bonding. I reply on the behalf of my wife, about abuilding a 50 storey building with multi functional facilities for socialising at the MRT because the huge amount of people moving in between the MRT.

A multi functional building in progress near the Bouna Vista and One North MRT, with arts, commercial & cultural facilities, with 4 storey of basement like the Ion of Orchard Road. Both building were developed by Capitaland.

Possible it will be the place of hotbed innovations as it was near the One North, Biopolis or A-Star. It was linked to Labrador MRT which near the Labrador Park& beach.

Many people use the MRT so it make senses to build more facilities for people to exercise, acquire knowledge, display their artistic talent like busking, arts, create, innovate & music etc and give more opportunities to display their talents, for more people to access it.

Singapore largest private institutions MDIS was nearby the MRT and ACS International too was nearby so the need for state of art and special facilities for them to develop their talents are crucial.

CC contacted me for a photographic sessions at the riverine, I agreed. CC and Soo Ching turned up first at The Central. Benda and Greg came later, Eric Lim joined at a brief moment.

After taking some photos Eric left. From The Central, we started taking photos at the Clark Quay area. The beautiful sun was setting. At that night the sunset was particularly beautiful. It turned out to be my most popular photo in Facebook. It is not often to get comments on your photos in Facebook.

My most difficult project for the Chingay Festivals, with so many parts and 20 sets.

I didn't go down to the show, so with the permission of Arbal of Flickr, I upload the photo, which showcased the person put the prop on.

I sometimes sent and shared my ideas to the media. Zoe Tay and some of the media artistes might not exists in the media today, if I had not sent my suggestions and ideas to the then Singapore Broadcasting Corp.

Years ago I had sent my suggestions to Singapore Broadcasting Corp. (presently Mediacorp) , to set up a contest and that give generous incentives, to winners of acting contests to draw out the best talented people to come forward. Nowadays they widen the talents pool drawing contestants from overseas.

In my younger days, I read widely. I love to read about the life stories of great people. My hero were Thomas Edison whose inventions made the world a better place to live. Henry Ford for his mastering of the art of productions of cars & Florence Nightingale for her profound dedications to the sufferings and the sicks.

I had replied to our MP, as the MP had wrote to me for suggestions to bond the community when my wife got the PR.

I had replied to built a 50 storey building to house multi-functional activities people to socialise, to bond the community near MRT, as the MRT is in the central location, which drawn the most traffic .

My suggestions might had influenced the government, to allow the building of a 50 storey HDB with multi-facilities near Tanjong Pagar MRT station.

Long ago I had suggested making tourism as country main economic driver, now finally they made it a reality. As tourism industries are sustainable and recurring in long run. And we need to continue to come up with fresh ideas to draw the tourists.

Our manufacturing industries might had difficulties to complete with India and China cheap, educated and large labour pool. The Bahamas, Las Vegas, Macau with large part of their economy driven by tourism. They too do not have much resources.

As I was greatly inspired by the works and contributions of the Nobel Prize Winners to humanity. I suggested giving numerous smaller awards Now I saw schools, always displayed their awards outside the fence in their banners.

In those days computers is not widely uses so its difficult to record down all my ideas or I had contribute certain ideas, or some of my ideas were adopted. Now I can write in my blog if I had some good and inspiring ideas.

I had performed in altogether 25 major cultural shows including Singapore National Day Parade, Chingay Parade(props assembling), Youth Peace Cultural Show, South East Asian Games etc.

When I was young I love to go up to the ten floor of a building to watch the fireworks.

TV Presenter joined us for a photo taking sessions. Nowadays more exciting stunts were added.

The thrills and adrenalin rush, into the stadium made performing in the NDP exciting, with various different groups of people from different backgroung working together for peace of Singapore

What is this?

How to put up a five layer human tower

At a hotel in Xian China, they were struggling to put up a 3 layer human tower. I went forward and gave a notch and help to push a person's buttock up to help him to stand up, they were surprised by the move.

My suggestions on putting up a five layer human tower.

To put up the five layer tower, we need to solve the third layer first. The third layer is the most critical of all the layers. It need to climb up to the second layer shoulder, sit on it and stand up with the top two layer on top of their shoulder, that is four persons(top man & 3 second layer persons). With no assistance from the safety officer.

To train these three top layers first will solve most of the problems, first choose the lightest persons to put on the upper layers. They use to put only five persons on the third layer, which is not enough. The third layer got difficulty to stand up with five persons, with the equivalent of nearly a person on their shoulders and stand-up. I suggest increase to 6 persons.

These 6 persons or the third layer, should be given the most attentions. They should be the persons to train first in order to build their endurance and stamina. Ask them to go back home do so extra sit- up with weight training or put weight on their shoulder to train. These will solve the problem.

I used to find that they spend to much time training the bottom two layers, which doesn't matter so much. If overexert they usually at the later part of the training doesn't have much energy. So it defeat the purpose.

Because the safety officers can compensate their weakness and support them. To sit and stand up with a person on top of your shoulder, train a few times exert a tremendous amount of energy it can be very tiring.

Few of them are not regular. So sometimes they come, sometime they don't, make the training of the bottom 2 layers difficult. This could neutralise the effect of training.

To assist the 2nd bottom layer, two safety officers to support one bottom second layer person.

One person left and another right. One hand support the second layer person left buttock and another right kneel cap.

Then help to push his buttock up for him when he going to stand up, one hand to hold his knee cap, so to not to let it bend and another to hold heel, after he stand up to reduce the pressure on the shoulder of the bottom layer. If possible the safety officer body to stay as close as possible to the person he is supporting, so he can utilise his strength most and don't allow the second bottom layer sway too much which will affect the upper layers.

Usually the swaying/unbalance of the the persons in the sitting positions moving to the standing positions cause the fall of the towers due to the imbalance of some of them standing up, some slower some faster and the upper layer tilt to much to one direction( due to fatigue or not enough strength).

The safety officers play key role, he got to ensure all of the same layer move up at the same time. His one hand got hold the buttocks of the second bottom layer, so to absorb the pressure of the 3 upper layer on the legs of the second bottom layer, the equivalent of 10 person weight on the shoulders of the second bottom layer.

I saw some of the second bottom layer legs shake when they stand up, the safely officer got to help them to straighten and lock in their legs with another hand. The third layer must not worried about their lower part, so that they can concentrate on their upper part. The key role of the safety officer is to stabilise the second bottom layer. We hadn't put up a five layer human tower since 1983. Any better suggestions?

I made lots of friends in the parade. Some times after the parade we had a gatherings at karoke.

1993 SEA Games - A memorable experiences

In Primary School, I used to do lots of somersaults and various gymnastics moves at my schools , and in my secondary school days I was in the school gym group.

Altogether since 1987 , I had participated in 25 major cultural events like the (Photo)National Day Parade, the Chingay Festivals & the Youth Peace Cultural Festivals. The whole groups from different background work together for peace is very exciting. The rush into the stadium to perform also excited me

In the 1993 SEA Games Grand Finale our team were to put up a 4 layers human tower together with other human towers and other group gym display items.

For a person to sit and stand up carrying a person on your shoulders is no easy task

So for the years of my experience joining all these mass display item. I sometimes share my experiences with the less experience trainer.

The top layer- one person, 2nd top layer 3 persons, sit and stand up carrying one person, third layer 5 persons sit and carry altogether 4 persons up, the bottom layer 8 persons , need the safety officers support to push the buttocks of the third layer up, as the bottom lays carry altogether 9 persons on their shoulders and hold them until the show end.

After pushing the button of the third layer up, the safety officers is to hold the kneel caps of the third layers and straighten it and not to let it bend and shake.

Our tower eight is the first to put up, subsequently it kept felling down even during the Preview. After some members left to join other group

So through my year of experiences in gym, I informed the seniors about the problems of putting the heavier persons at the upper layers.

In this type of human pyramid. It's very much depend on the weight of the person on top of the shoulders of the persons who carry him on their shoulders. Training can only do that much.

As in my childhood days I use to carry my classmates on my shoulders and moved around with them on top of my shoulders, I found that the lighter the persons the more easily I am able to move around. More on how these experiences help me to perform some amazing feats View Blog

Because the trainer is very young , and with little experience. He got difficulties understand the problems.

Finally the top trainer came down and made a few changes, in the grand finale all the towers were able to put up all the towers successfully.

What a memorable experiences .

In 2006 National Day Parade, through my experience, I recommended to place more safety officers to support the bottom second layer. 5 persons got to carry a total of 4 persons on their shoulders sit and stand up.

To make their tasks easier I suggested to the trainer, to suppot the bottom second layers' buttocks, when they climb up and sit on the bottom layer shoulder.

And help to push their buttock up. When their buttocks were pushed up, the safety officer one hand support their knee-cap and another support their heels, to reduce the pressure of the shoulders of the bottom layer.

Hopefully next time around they are able to put up a five layer tower.

I sometimes send and shares my ideas to the media. Zoe Tay and some of the media artistes might not exists in the media today, if I had not send my suggestions to the then Singapore.

Years ago I had sent my suggestions to Singapore Broadcasting Corp. (presently Mediacorp) , to set up a contest and that give generous incentives, to winners of acting contests to draw out talented people to come forward. Nowadays they widen the talent pool drawing contestants from overseas.

I had replied to an MP, as the MP had wrote to me for suggestions to bond the community when my wife got the PR, to built a 50 storey building to house multi-functional activities people to socialise, to bond the community near MRT.

My suggestions might had influenced the government, to allow the building of a 50 storey HDB with multi-facilities near Tanjong Pagar MRT station.

Long ago I had suggested making tourism as country main economic driver, now finally they made it a reality. As tourism industries are sustainable and recurring in long run. And we need to continue to come up with fresh ideas to draw the tourists.

Our industries might had difficulties complete with India and China cheap, educated and large labour pool. The Bahamas, Las Vegas, Macau big part of their economy were driven by tourism. They too do not have much resources.

As I was greatly inspired by the works and contributions of the Nobel Prize Winners to humanity. I suggested giving numerous smaller awards, now I saw schools, always displayed their awards outside the fence in their banners.

In those days computers is not widely uses so its difficult to record down all my ideas or I had contribute certain ideas, or some of my ideas were adopted. Now I can write in my blog if I had some good and inspiring ideas.

Creating more jobs for the older workers

I read the interesting articles by East Coast Life. With today society were many older workers got difficulties in finding meaningful jobs.

It is a good idea to develop intensive farming.

Some of them maybe sent to Japan for intensive training. As Japan had the most well paid cleaners, why not Singapore had the most technological advance farming technicians or farms in the world.

The farm should locate near the biopolis or West Coast as most of the biodiversity scientists and higher institutions are there. Singapore had the advantage of having lots of land near the sea.

With the $15 billions biopolis nearby, the chance of breakthrough and export some of the cultivations is very high.

Thailand had successful built their prawn farms. Which I found very tasty. Japan able to grow water melons that sell many times the values of normal water melons. This are some example of the benefit of intensive farming.

So Singapore can diversified it food sources and not so dependent on other countries for its food.

As more careers were created in the outskirts areas, so it will lessen the congestions in the city area.

More natural pastimes were built for healthier living.

I think this idea is worth serious considerations.

My photo The Esplanade I felt surprised by the supports and the numerous awards from the groups it received, most groups or invitations pools that I sent to, give more than 3 awards/ comments on it or awarded it more than 7 awards in each group, I guess this is art.

I saw some of the lights refracted to a distance,which seem like blur, I went down to the same place to try to figure it out, what is it due to what.

I saw with my naked eyes that the lights were same as what I had taken by my camera, which created an illusion, which lights were projected out to a distance from the distance I saw it.

Deeply honoured to be able to contribute to the Chingay Festivals

Reflecting my numerous years of doing props for the Chingay Parade. I am very honoured & happy to be able to contribute my part to the Chingay Festivals altogether 5. And happy that I am able to put and exercise my years of technical training & skills in making the props for the country.

In 1997 first time foreign countries groups were invited to perform, where the musical instrument props at that returned in quite a bad shapes from the preview, I got tremendous challenge rushing from morning until night to repair and perfect, which later displayed in the temple for months. It is very tough trying to repair and redo the props in just one day, but my years of rigorous technical training at Singapore Press Holdings help to accomplish such a difficult task.

Hope to share my Chingay 08 Crab props creations experiences , I think it is the possibly the most challenging and difficult props in Chingay(20 )sets, with it ten hands and legs twisting and turning and parts to be considered.

I hope that the 08 Chingay, to be the most successful ever, it will be a milestone since 97 where foreign groups were asked to participate for the first time. This time it is to be broadcast to many countries.

This year is a big challenge for the props, most of them (prop group members) felt the strains, trying to do the crabs props because of so many parts to be assembled together, most probably think they were the most difficult props ever done so far.

After trying to spray-painting , smoothen doing the finishing on the rough parts of the 20 sets of crabs my whole body ached for a few days. I hope that my creations can inspire the kids.
